The quality of DLSRs has vastly improved of late, but as with all great technology, doing one thing really well just isn’t enough. Video recording has been a feature on digital cameras for a while, but I have never seen quality like this from any stills camera before. Read the rest of this entry »

During the run up to Christmas, the guys in the office could probably justify having lingerie sites stored in their browser history as they rigorously research that perfect gift for their loved ones. Recently though, we’ve had further good reason to give our browsers a good work out as we delved into the on-line, high-end, underwear space in preparation for Lingerie Miami – a newly launched web site for a spectacular runway show of the world’s most luxurious lingerie labels. We’re in the middle of a little web site refresh here at Dusted and as part of this we are including some video on our site. No real problem there, but we came across a bit of a hurdle when it came to, what I believed was, a fairly simple video process. Today, Google is going to release their stab at a web browser. It’s called Chrome and it’s based on Webkit, the same engine that runs Apple’s Safari browser (which, in theory, should mean that testing sites doesn’t get any more complicated). It also includes bits of Mozilla’s Firefox. God bless open source! The question is, do we really need another browser in the mix? Read the rest of this entry »

During the late 90’s when the .com revolution was in full swing, I remember Iceland jumping (rather belatedly) on the bandwagon and renaming all their storefronts Iceland.co.uk as if this was all you needed to make an Internet business. Not sure how many storefronts Iceland have left to put back to their original format, but I wonder now whether they should hold on for a bit as a new revolution in domain naming has recently been approved by ICANN – the organisation which regulates many of the Web’s top-level domains.
