A truly cloudy experience by Gormley
As the Antony Gormley’s exhibition “Blind light” comes to a close this Sunday 19th August 2007, I highly recommend you to go and check it out at the Southbank Centre. The exhibition features a series of brand new monumental works specially conceived for The Hayward’s distinctive spaces, including one of the largest ever urban public art commissions, Event Horizon, that features sculptural casts of the artist’s body on rooftops and public walkways across central London, dramatically transforming the city skyline. It also boasts of the amazing experience of being trapped in a glass box while walking inside a cloud.
I really enjoyed it, I love the fact that you can disappear out of sight and then suddenly reappearing to find your friend. Gormley captures an unexplainable feeling as you explore the different environments displaced at the Hayward. Go and check it out and let us know what you think!
