Gaucho beats Belgo and Café Rouge!

Caterersearch.com Web Awards

Gaucho won Best Group Website Award at the Caterersearch.com Web Awards 2008 last night beating Belgo and Café Rouge into the top spot. Dusted designed and developed the current Gaucho site as part of a major re-branding and positioning exercise in 2006 and since then has maintained and looked after the site to ensure it stays ahead of the competition. Christmas briefs

I think everyone would agree Christmas just seems to get earlier and earlier. I’m sure when John Horsley designed the first commercially available Christmas card in 1843 (yes, I did have to Google that top fact…) he wasn’t thinking about it as early as September! Around mid-December, when the BBC are showing re-runs of The Wizard of Oz and Tesco have already started discounted tree decorations, that’s when I start ‘feeling Christmassy’. Philanthropy made sexy!

Lingerie Miami launch event

During the run up to Christmas, the guys in the office could probably justify having lingerie sites stored in their browser history as they rigorously research that perfect gift for their loved ones. Top-level decision made on domain names

Not sure how many storefronts Iceland have left to put back to their original format, but I wonder now whether they should hold on for a bit as a new revolution in domain naming has recently been approved by ICANN – the organisation which regulates many of the Web’s top-level domains. Dusted launch The Bridge Network

This movie requires Flash Player 8

With Team GB riding high in the medals table at the Beijing Olympics we’ve been busy ourselves developing a new social networking site for ex-Olympians called The Bridge Network. Initially restricted to the rowing community the site has a business emphasis to it, facilitating the connection between employers and former athletes and the current generation of competitors.

You can’t turn a tanker round with a speedboat change

A photographer friend of mine told me today he didn’t want to be a photographer anymore, but instead, was going to be a ‘digital imaging poet’. Sounded like a great idea to me and we arranged to ‘touch base about it offline’ later (during one of our regular ‘idea showers’). We’ll no doubt be ‘getting our ducks in a row’ while looking to ‘leverage a holistic cradle-to-grave approach’ too. I think. Not sure… Read the rest of this entry »
