Gaucho won Best Group Website Award at the Caterersearch.com Web Awards 2008 last night beating Belgo and Café Rouge into the top spot. Dusted designed and developed the current Gaucho site as part of a major re-branding and positioning exercise in 2006 and since then has maintained and looked after the site to ensure it stays ahead of the competition.

Having experienced the culinary delights of both Belgo’s and Café Rouge, it’s great to see all our hard work on Gaucho formally recognised amongst such a highly competitive sector. The judges praised the Gaucho site for ease of use and impressive statistics, proving the point that strong branding and usability were as important as eye candy and moving imagery.

Gaucho’s operations director, Martin Williams, accepted the award and commented afterwards on the work we did, saying how well we had interpreted their business needs and delivered such a highly effective on-line solution.

Reflecting the tremendous growth of the Internet as a tool for business, the inaugural Caterersearch.com Web Awards honour the best websites in hospitality across 12 categories. The awards recognise the best websites in the industry and reward the organisations and individuals involved in designing, managing, marketing or promoting them. Websites were judged on criteria including visual design, innovation, content, interactivity, ease of use, commercial success and potential and overall user experience. The awards were presented last night at The Imagination Gallery, London.

Dusted were commissioned by Diversified USA, to develop a key part of the style strategy site – a fashion do’s and don’ts game – and we are very proud to be associated with the achievement.

The game forms the basis of a data capture programme and was launched as part of the Administrative Professionals Conference in Canada. Hosted by professional image advisor, Kimberly Law each player is guided through three simple style scenarios that help demonstrate the objective of the site – fashion tips, styling solutions and office strategies for savvy admins. In other words, how what you wear can help you exude confidence, be taken seriously and get ahead.

The Mermaid Centre scooped gold for best web site at the Meetings Industry Marketing Awards (MIMA) last night. Dusted designed and developed the new site last year so it was great to see all our hard work formally recognised amongst a highly competitive sector. The judges praised The Mermaid site for ease of use and strong branding, making it a clear winner against competition from Woods River Cruises and Imago at Loughborough.

The Mermaid’s marketing director, Theresa Swift (above), accepted the award and during the post presentation interview commented on the work we did, saying how well we had interpreted the brief and delivered such a highly effective on-line solution.

MIMA was launched in 2002 to raise the standards of marketing in the meetings and events industry and to recognise the marketeers. Organised by Meetings & Incentive Travel magazine, and held on the first day of National Meetings Week, the 2007 presentation dinner took place at The Science Museum’s IMAX theatre with 300 people attending the event.
