I’m happy to hear that the production of Wattson by DIY Kyoto is now in full swing. If you have not heard or seen this product and call yourself an eco-aware designer you need to get one and plug it in at home in order to measure how much electricity you use daily. A friend always used to ask, “Hey Jack, what colour can you see because I can not see the correct colour”. Sim Daltonism is a colour blindness simulator for Mac OS X. In real-time it filters the area around the mouse pointer and displays the result just as it would be seen by a colour blind person. For us designers and artists, choosing the correct combination of hues either from the pantone book or from the swatches option in Photoshop is so important due to the fact that it plays a major part in the process of creativity. Summit Day! Barafu Hut to Uhuru Peak: I made it! Left camp at 10pm Friday and got to Stella Point at 7am. Exhausted. Freezing. Hungry. Elated. Scree run back to camp after. 3 hours walk same day to last camp. Up at 5am today for 5 hour trek down. Knackered. S.

Karanga Valley to Barafu Hut: 3 and a half hour walk today. All gradual slopes. Last camp before summit. We set off at 10pm tonight. Tired already. Need shower and nice food. Fingernails look disgusting. S.

Barranco Camp to Karanga Valley: Today was only 5hr walk but difficult terrain. Lots of uphill scrambling. Had worst ever headache. V tired. Short trek tomorrow as we start summit walk at 11pm. S.
