The political hot potato that surrounds the arrest, custody and legal battle of Wikileaks founder, Julian Assange, is set to run and run and I’m sure by Christmas, the story will still be headline news. I’m not about to debate whether ‘his’ site is morally right or wrong (personally I believe some things are probably better off kept in a locked cabinet for good) Read the rest of this entry »

The Charlotte based UX meetup took place last week with a session entitled Inexpensive Usability Testing – A Very Jane Goodall Experience. Considering that usability testing can be an expensive and time consuming process, which is hard to fit into a project proposal, this seemed like an opportunity I couldn’t miss!

When I first saw the news that Google Maps’ Street View had gone 3D I thought it was an April Fools’ Day gag. But low and behold it’s actually a reality — and a pretty well executed reality at that. The above image is of Oxford Circus, London and shows off the effect pretty well. So grab your 3D specs and have a virtual wander around. Read the rest of this entry »

We recently launched a brand new website for Depiction Lab, a design consultancy specialising in the creation of branded environments for the retail, commercial and leisure sectors. The site was to be quite standard in terms of its content, with news, a portfolio and company profile. However the visual approach was more adventurous, meaning that a Flash website was the best fit for them and their audience. Read the rest of this entry »
