When I first saw the news that Google Maps’ Street View had gone 3D I thought it was an April Fools’ Day gag. But low and behold it’s actually a reality — and a pretty well executed reality at that. Not least because of criticism from consumer rights and privacy groups regarding the ‘three strikes’ scheme – an initiative aimed at addressing online copyright infringement which could see the Internet connections of persistent offenders, cut off. We recently launched a brand new website for Depiction Lab, a design consultancy specialising in the creation of branded environments for the retail, commercial and leisure sectors. The site was to be quite standard in terms of its content, with news, a portfolio and company profile. Following our win in the inaugural Caterersearch.com Web Awards last year, its great to see the website we designed and developed for Harrison Catering also shortlisted for 2009. The awards were launched last year to recognise and reward the organisations and individuals involved in designing, managing, marketing or promoting food sector websites, judged on a criteria including visual design, innovation, content, interactivity, ease of use, commercial success or potential and overall user experience.
