For the second year running, Dusted will be sponsoring the fifth Discovering Latin America (DLA) Film Festival – London’s leading Latin American film showcase. Whether you are a film lover or keen to awake your senses for the first time to the diversity that the Latin American region and cinema have to offer, the DLA Film Festival brings together an eclectic mix of internationally acclaimed feature films, documentaries and short films.

The festival exhibits around 40 films from over ten countries, representing the best contemporary films from across Latin America. Several of these films will have their UK and London premieres at the festival, including Forbidden to Forbid, which won the 2003 Brazilian Ministry of Culture Contest and the Best Picture at the Biarritz Film Festival 2006 and opens the festival tonight at Covent Garden’s Odeon. This opening night gala includes a question and answer session after the show with director Jorge Durán which is typical of the festival, which will feature panels, retrospectives and interviews, coordinated by academics, journalists and members of the film industry.

At the heart of the festival’s marketing strategy is organisation’s website that Dusted redeveloped as part of last year’s festival. Building on it’s success, we have completely overhauled all the data-driven aspects of the site to give a much more flexible system for the presentation of schedules as well an increase in editorial control for DLA. This has proved vital for the organisers as this year, there is far more emphasis on updatability and reaching the target audience as quickly as possible.

The festival takes place across five London venues, including several West End cinemas, the Tate Modern and for the first time, Hampstead’s exclusive cinema club, Everyman. If you want to experience the unique diversity, beauty, culture and the potential that Latin America has to offer, as well as contributing to the less privileged in the region, then book tickets now for any of the forthcoming events.
