New blood for Dusted
This week saw two new recruits enter the fold to further bolster Dusted’s design resource: Chukwudi ‘Jack’ Okonkwo, who will be concentrating on web design and on-line user experiences and Stuart Littlewood who will be adding to our off-line creative and branding team.
With a background in interaction design and a Masters to prove it, Jack has worked with a variety of media companies since graduating from the University of Westminster, encouraging business users to become active participants in creative pools, developing both advanced interactive platforms and portals.
Stuart is a graduate of the University of Lincoln, where his more recent achievements included gaining a coveted Yellow Pencil as part of the 2006 D&AD Global Student Award; Stuart has worked with an eclectic mix of agencies, designing for music, publishing and identity.
As part of a recruitment campaign last year, we asked 100 designers what their favourite brand was. This year, as our company grows, it seemed more appropriate to ask everybody here, what their favourites were, and unsurprisingly, Apple was a clear winner.
However, the criteria weren’t simply design related (although in the case of Apple, their identity, stores, packaging and products probably did sway the majority) but moreover the kind of brands we used everyday and trusted – how we felt as consumers as opposed to designers.
Each person (Alex, Darren, Jack, Jamie, Matt, Sarah, Stuart and myself) were given three choices (so a maximum of 24) and the results were:
