I think everyone would agree Christmas just seems to get earlier and earlier. I’m sure when John Horsley designed the first commercially available Christmas card in 1843 (yes, I did have to Google that top fact…) he wasn’t thinking about it as early as September! Around mid-December, when the BBC are showing re-runs of The Wizard of Oz and Tesco have already started discounted tree decorations, that’s when I start ‘feeling Christmassy’. Well it’s that time of year again but as you get older it does seem that Christmas loses a bit of sparkle. I remember lying in bed hardly able to go to sleep with the excitement and anticipation of what I will wake up to the following day. Well that and being slightly frightened of the flying monkeys in The Wizard of Oz.
