I’m going in… Cover me

I’ve been listening to podcasts pretty much since they started. Since then, subscriptions have come and go, but one has been there pretty much since the off. Coverville is a rather superb production going out roughly 3 times a week. As the title suggests it’s all about cover versions of songs. Features include “Cover Stories” where you get to hear several artists covering just one, “Listener Requests” which doesn’t really need explaining and also music trivia. Where’s WALL•E

WALL•EPixar’s latest movie is about a robot in the year 2700. WALL•E has spent 700 years just doing what he does, but it’s taken him this long to work out that that isn’t what he’s meant to be doing. Another quality Pixar production by the looks of the trailer, made all the better by being named after our Dave.

A long time ago…

Star Wars

In a galaxy not too far away, 20th Century Fox realised Star Wars and today (the best sci-fi movie of all time?) celebrates its 30th anniversary. I was 7 at the time, but had to wait till the mid-80’s to watch it on TV where I remember ‘taping it’ (on our top of the range Toshiba Betamax!) and watching it over and over till I almost knew the entire script off by heart.
