All our hard work has pretty much come to a head on the various projects (album artwork and posters) for musician Kris Buckle and it culminated at the end of last week with the launch of his new website. Kris is clearly over the moon with his new online presence, exclaiming “I’m diggin’ my shiny new web site”. Read the rest of this entry »

For those who can’t resist a new gadget, there’s a new little thing coming up this month that, I suspect, will stir things up in the digital music oriented market.
Pacemaker it is called (quirky?) and it is a portable device in which you can mix tunes in a rather professional way. Read the rest of this entry »

Does the World (Wide Web) need another social networking site? Kylie seems to think so as today saw the launch of KylieKonnect – the social networking site for Kylie fans. All seems rather niche to me (this could quite easily be just a group on Facebook) and other than an excuse to put Kylie on our blog, it had me thinking – are social networks becoming nothing more than ‘must-have’ site accessories?

So what’s all the hype about? The ill fated ‘Millennium Dome’ is back with a vengeance as a reborn, super-cool entertainment complex – the ‘O2 Arena’. I’ve been listening to podcasts pretty much since they started. Since then, subscriptions have come and go, but one has been there pretty much since the off. Coverville is a rather superb production going out roughly 3 times a week. As the title suggests it’s all about cover versions of songs. Features include “Cover Stories” where you get to hear several artists covering just one, “Listener Requests” which doesn’t really need explaining and also music trivia. Get a direct link to subscribe in iTunes as well as links to the other podcasts I subscribe to after the break. Read the rest of this entry »

Tate Britain will be hosting Cybersonica ’07 at their monthly Late at Tate Britain event on the 6 April 2007. It’s a festival of sound, music and technology all coming together for 4 hours. With free entry and half price entry to the Hogarth Exhibition, it would seem a good way to spend the evening of Good Friday. For those old enough to remember Heaven 17 and The Human League, Martyn Ware, founder member of both is presenting. And if you’re not old enough to remember them, don’t let that put you off.
Cybersonica have a few other events in their programme to.

Not content with dominating the global coffee market, Starbucks have launched their own record label. Hear Music™, which was previously the brand under which they released a few compilation albums sold in store has now become a full record label. It isn’t known whether any artists have been signed.
