The rapid rise of Facebook cannot be ignored and reminds me of the speed at which Google rose to prominence a few years ago. At face value, the offerings of both companies seem different (search engine vs social application) but they essentially comprise of many similar elements; personal user data, email, IM, advertising revenue, social applications and search functionality. A friend always used to ask, “Hey Jack, what colour can you see because I can not see the correct colour”. Sim Daltonism is a colour blindness simulator for Mac OS X. In real-time it filters the area around the mouse pointer and displays the result just as it would be seen by a colour blind person. For us designers and artists, choosing the correct combination of hues either from the pantone book or from the swatches option in Photoshop is so important due to the fact that it plays a major part in the process of creativity.
