Ye Olde Tower Bridge Road
The British Film Institute (BFI) have a fascinating collection of footage from bygone days that I always enjoy watching. It’s rare that you find a film from the past that was recorded pretty much on your doorstep though. If you’re familiar with the Dusted offices you should take look at this clip and get a glimpse of Tower Bridge Road and it’s inhabitants as they were in 1931.
I wouldn’t recommend wandering around in the road nowadays – you will most likely be mowed down by the huge volume of traffic now passing down this historic street. It’s almost unrecognisable compared to today’s TBR but if you look closely you’ll see one store that is still operating.
